Renal Dialysis

The entire staff would like to welcome you to our dialysis unit!
Family support is an important part of our dialysis care.

Family support is an important part
of our Dialysis care.

In most cases a patient will start his or her dialysis treatments at the Lancaster General Hospital. You will most likely then receive your treatments as an outpatient at the Lancaster General Health Campus Dialysis Center.

Trained professionals - doctors, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses and technicians - will be there to assist in your treatment. These professionals will monitor your dialysis treatments and are available to assist you with any medical problems and to measure your progress. Registered nurses also teach the home dialysis patients and monitor their ongoing progress, along with the patients' physicians.

Social workers are available to answer your questions regarding insurance, transportation, worka nd family issues and travel and community resources. The dietitians will help you plan for your individual diet needs. We all work together to help the most important member of the health care team...YOU!

By learning as much as you can about your condition, your choices for treatments, and how you can assist in your care, you can regain your sense of control. We look forward to helping you along in this new journey...
