What is Influenza (Flu)?

Influenza, the flu, is a respiratory infection caused by a virus. The illness may last several days, a week, or more. The flu may lead to pneumonia or death in some people

What is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. It strikes people who have a decreased ability to fight infection - - those recovering from an illness, severe cold, or those who are weak in general.

Side Effects from these Immunizations:

• Soreness at the injection site, redness, swelling for 48 hours
• Occasionally a low grade fever (100.9 or less) for about 24 hours.  This may be accompanied by muscle pain and/or fatigue.
• Allergic reaction – hives, allergic asthma
• Severe reactions rarely occur.  Consult your physician for any discomfort beyond the above.
