Play It Safe

Play It Safe

Statistics show that your risk of being a victim of a violent crime is low. But you can improve your chances even more by playing it safe. Follow some of these tips to help reduce your risk of being a victim of crime:
  • If you run or walk regularly, don’t go the same way at the same time. Vary your route. And go with a friend, when possible.
  • While traveling, carry a cell phone, change or a phone card  in case you have car trouble.
  • Park in a well-lit area after dark.

Recently Lancaster General held a program for women on Personal Safety to help them understand the dos and don’ts of personal safety. Many local gyms and community groups also hold self-defense and personal safety programs. Ask your local police department for suggestions on how you can learn more. If you would like to hold a Personal Safety program in your community, let us know. Please call 544-5233.
