Recognizing the interaction of mind and body in the healing process, The Well Spring provides facilities, services, materials and programs to meet the emotional needs of seriously ill or disabled patients. This philosophy that health and healing can be enhanced through positive thoughts—made popular by Norman Cousins, the longtime editor of the Saturday Review who triumphed over a life-threatening disease with a self-prescribed daily dose of laughter—is the premise on which The Well Spring is founded.
The Mission of The Well Spring is to offer humorous and inspirational materials and programs, free of charge, to patients, their family members, medical staff and others who support patients in attaining optimum health and well being.
