LifeSkills Training Program - School-Based
Lancaster General has implemented and incorporated this evidence-based curricula, LifeSkills into a comprehensive school program to prevent tobacco use and addiction. Identified by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as a program that works, it is one of two named programs that has the most credible evidence of sustained impact on youths smoking rates.
 
Implementation of LifeSkills Training has been shown to reduce tobacco use among adolescents by 75% and polydrug use up to 66%.

Lancaster General is in its 4th year of delivering this program to Columbia, Conestoga Valley, Eastern Lancaster, Hempfield, Lampeter/Strasburg, Penn Manor, SDOL and the Warwick Public Schools. Also involved are Country Day, Lancaster Preparatory, Manheim Christian, Our Lady of the Angels, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Sacred Heart, Saint Leo the Great, Mount Joy Career & Technology Center and the Ramada IU-13.
