Lancaster General Women & Babies Hospital

A new hospital was born in June of 2000 - the Lancaster General Women & Babies Hospital. The first of its kind in Lancaster, the new facility was greeted with warmth and excitement by the entire community. Women were thrilled to have a hospital based on their unique needs.

The first sections of the hospital to open were the Delivery and Family Pavilions, which offer maternity care. In mid-2001, patients began visiting the Women's Pavilion for inpatient and outpatient gynecological surgeries, outpatient laboratory testing, lymphedema therapy, diagnostic imaging and mammography. In addition, women also turn to the hospital as a resource for health care information and support. The Breast Care Center and Resource & Wellness Center give women a place to turn when they have questions or concerns.

The final phase to open was the three-story medical office building attached to the hospital. Several physician practices make their home here. Being close to the hospital makes it easy for patients who need further tests. It's also convenient for physicians who have patients in the hospital.
