1917: The Coatesville Century Club, working with The Health and Hygiene Committee in Coatesville, established the Coatesville VNA to visit and care for patients affected by influenza and tuberculosis. The services of one registered nurse were used that first year to direct the influenza workers in the city.

1919: The Coatesville VNA started the May Huston House which was equipped by the Huston family to meet the needs of the county’s children in need of operations on tonsils and other treatments.

1924: The work of the Coatesville VNA through the May Huston House had expanded to include a Baby Clinic, Birth Control Clinic and Dental Clinic. Through these clinics and other education endeavors, the nurses of the VNA continued to have a positive effect on the health of the Coatesville community.

1944: The Coatesville VNA was incorporated as a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing high quality health-related services in the home environment to individuals and families in Chester County and the surrounding areas.

1980’s: The Coatesville VNA affiliated with the Brandywine Health System and changed its name to Brandywine Home Health and Hospice.

1998: Brandywine Home Health and Hospice joined with VNA Community Care Services as part of a regional program serving Lancaster and Chester Counties.

2005: Brandywine Home Health moved from its Brandywine Hospital site to its current location on Highlands Boulevard.

2006: Brandywine Home Health changed its name to reflect the parent company, VNA Community Care Services, Chester County
