In 2002, The Reading Hospital Home Care, a branch office of the VNA Community Care Services program, opened to serve Berks County residents.
This program expansion came about through a joint effort between two strong health care organizations with similar community-focused visions: The Reading Hospital and Medical Center and Lancaster General. The Reading Hospital and Medical Center was established in 1867 and has a long history of providing comprehensive acute care, post-acute rehabilitation, behavioral and occupational health services to residents of Berks and adjoining counties. Now, through the staff of The Reading Hospital Home Care, community-based home health care is part of their continuum of services.
