Library
The Well Spring library houses more than 3,000 inspirational, humorous, and self-help DVDs, videos, and books as well as toys, games, and puzzles. It can also access Patient Education materials held at Lancaster General Health’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences library. LG staff and visitors may use materials on-site or borrow them for up to two weeks.
Humor Cart
Fun-loving volunteers make daily rounds with a mobile “humor cart” to Waiting and Treatment areas at the Health Campus, telling jokes and offering patients and caregivers humorous literature to help pass the time.
Speaker’s Bureau
Volunteers are available to give 15-20 minute presentations on the value of humor on health and healing to community groups at no charge. Please call the Well Spring Coordinator for more information at (717) 544-3866.
Laughter Lunches
A luncheon for patients and their caregivers is offered on various dates throughout the year. This hour-long program allows patients and caregivers an opportunity to enjoy the uplifting effects of a good laugh in a positive, upbeat atmosphere. Sharing a meal also allows guests to make connections with others in similar circumstances. This free event is open to anyone dealing with chronic illness, pain, and/or disability, as well as their caregivers. Reservations are required. For more information or an upcoming schedule, call The Well Spring at (717) 544-3159.
