Keith Bitner, M. Div., Board Certified Chaplain Director Keith started as Associate Chaplain at LGH in 1982 and became director of the department in 1998. He received a B.A. from Barrington College and his M.Div. from Drew University School of Theology. Keith completed a residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Altoona General. An ordained United Methodist minister, he served as pastor in Altoona for ten years before coming to Lancaster General. Keith is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains, Inc. |

Keith Espenshade, M. Div., CPE Supervisor, ACPE Clinical Supervisor / Chaplain Keith came to LGH in 1998 to supervise the Clinical Pastoral Education program. His educational training includes a B.A. from Messiah College and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois. He is ordained by the Mennonite Church, and is an ACPE-certified CPE Supervisor. He served churches in Chicago and Allentown, completed a chaplain residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, and was a chaplain/supervisor-in-training at a retirement community in Gaithersburg, MD. While in Allentown, he also served as a volunteer police chaplain. |

Peter Jupin, LSW Staff Chaplain Pete has been employed at Lancaster General since 1987, serving in Social Work, Mental Health, and the Employee Assistance Program. He received his B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh and his M.S.W. from Temple University and is a licensed social worker in the state of Pennsylvania. Pete is continuing his Clinical Pastoral Education and is presently an Aspirant for the Diaconate in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg. |

Carolanne Hauck
Chaplain, Women & Babies Hospital
Carolanne has been employed by Lancaster General since 1998. She provided Pastoral Care to patients and staff at the former Susquehanna Division Hospital before joining the staff of Women and Babies in 2002. Carolanne received a BA in psychology from Millersville University and will graduate from Chestnut Hill College with a MA in Holistic Spirituality with a concentration in Healthcare in Spring of 2007. She completed two units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Philhaven and two units at Lancaster General Hospital. Carolanne serves on the Board of Directors for Share of Lancaster County. |

Jocelyn received her B.A. from Eastern College, St. David’s, PA (sociology) and her M.Div from Union Theological Seminary, New York City. She is ordained by the American Baptist Churches, USA and has served churches in Chicago, IL and Wayne, PA. She completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. |

Lynn Hade
CPE Chaplain Resident
Lynn graduated in May from The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church with a M.Div. She is a candidate for ordination in the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania. While she loved living in New York City for three years while in seminary, she is happy to be back in the green hills of Pennsylvania. |

Catherine Jensen
CPE Chaplain Resident
Catherine has served as a Lay Minister for over twenty years. She completed studies in psychology and pastoral counseling at the Graduate Theological Foundation following her residency at the University of Oxford, England.
Catherine is a native Hoosier, claiming Indiana her birth state. Her travels are extensive and she resided in Europe for five years. While in Europe, she served as the Pastoral Coordinator for the United States Army Chaplains, European Command in southern Germany. Prior to her time in Europe, she served within the Roman Catholic community of the United States Army, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. |

Lisa Volkert
CPE Chaplain Resident
Lisa grew up in the Poconos but has lived in Lancaster County for the past 20 years. After graduating with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of West Florida she developed and coordinated several grant programs which provided counseling, life skills, and vocational training that served the homeless, people suffering from mental illness and the disadvantaged. She also worked as a psychotherapist in private practice. Lisa did a CPE internship at LGH in 2002 and at Philhaven in 2003 after which she served as a hospice chaplain and bereavement counselor before returning to do her residency. |
