Heart Attack Treatment
(The higher the percentage, the better the result)
Aspirin at Arrival
Heart attack patients that were able to receive aspirin within 24 hours before or after hospital arrival
Aspirin at Discharge
Heart attack patients who are prescribed aspirin at hospital discharge
ACEI or ARB for LVSD
Heart attack patients with lowered heart function (left ventricular systolic dysfunction, or LVSD) who are prescribed medications (either angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, or ACEI, and angiotensinreceptor blocker, or ARB) at hospital discharge
Smoking Cessation
Heart attack patients with a history of smoking cigarettes, who are given smoking cessation advice or counseling during hospital stay. For purposes of this measure, a smoker is defined as someone who has smoked cigarettes anytime during the year prior to admission
Beta Blocker at Discharge
Heart attack patients who are prescribed a beta blocker medication at hospital discharge
Beta Blocker at Arrival
Heart attack patients who received a beta blocker medication within 24 hours after hospital arrival
PCI within 90 Minutes
Heart attack patients receiving percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) during the hospital stay with a time from hospital arrival to PCI of 90 minutes or less
