The Fondersmith Day Surgery Unit provides pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care to patients scheduled for outpatient procedures.  There are 19 pre/post patient care rooms, a 10-bed PACU, and 5 dedicated outpatient operating rooms.  The Nurse Manager for Day Surgery is Cindy Poucel.

The Operating Room provides surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic interventions in 13 main operating suites, three open-heart suites, one trauma suite and one cystoscopy suite.  An average of 15,000 procedures per year are performed.  The Nurse Manager for the Operating Room is Brenda Ulrich.

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is an 18-bed, phase 1 recovery area that renders services to a variety of patients and conditions.  It is a unit that provides safe emergence from anesthesia and care in the immediate post-operative phase.  The Nurse Manager for the PACU is Rebecca Hartley.

The Pre-Anesthesia Center’s staff assess, screen and interview patients scheduled with anesthesia for surgical, therapeutic and/or diagnostic intervention.  The pre-anesthesia staff is a liaison to the patient’s physician to assure patients and families are prepared for a safe, efficient and optimal operative experience.  The Nurse Manager for the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic is Margi Bowers.

The Pre-Surgical Care Unit provides pre-operative care to all patients scheduled for same day admission surgeries as well as all in house surgical patients.  Rebecca Hartley is the Nurse Manager for the Pre-Surgical Care Unit.

The Surgical/Endoscopy Center at the Lancaster General Health Campus cares for the outpatient surgical population.  The center operates weekdays with 6 operating rooms, 1 cystoscopy suite and 2 endoscopy suites.  The Nurse Manager is Elizabeth Roschel.
