Mind Body Programs for the Heart Healthy Woman

The Mind /Body Connection – The mind and body are indivisible and play an intricate role in not only the healing process but also in achieving and maintaining optimal health. The Mind Body programs are proven to help reduce and manage stress, depression and anxiety. The programs are very effective in reducing risk of heart disease and second cardiac events in people living with heart disease.

Description of classes:

Heart Healthy Yoga – A gentle yoga program with emphasis on posture, breath, flexibility, balance and overall heart health. Excellent for beginners or heart patients.

Journaling for Healing – In this program participants uncover the power of expressing themselves through the written word. Participants use creative writing techniques to aid in personal reflection and promote healing on all levels.

Powerful Silence – A scientifically based program featuring mindfulness meditation philosophies and practices. Participants engage in proven and practical guided meditation techniques while sitting, lying down, walking, and standing.

Qigong – (pronounced “Chee-Gong”) – This program uses slow and gentle movements to improve circulation, relaxation and strength; can be done seated. Ideal for those with limited mobility or problems with circulation.

Reiki - (pronounced “Ray-Key”) – This program uses a gentle therapeutic touch to promote relaxation and increase energy flow through the body. Excellent for those interested in building inner peace and calm.

Tai Chi- (pronounced “Tie-Chee”) – This program uses a gentle, flowing series of movements combined with self massage, breathing and meditation. Tai Chi is recommended for releasing tension and increasing energy levels.

Therapeutic massage – This therapy can help decrease pain, release physical and mental tension and increase range of motion. Massage is an ideal way to relieve stress and experience total relaxation
