Opened first as a summer home for tourists seeking the cool shade from the farm's prominent maple trees,
Maple Farm became one of the first privately operated nursing centers in the region in the 1940s. Maple Farm joined the Lancaster General family in August of 1997.
Mary Ann Russell, former owner and president, said, "I am confident that Maple Farm's long tradition of providing fine and sensitive nursing care to the residents of Lancaster County will continue and expand in today's healthcare environment."
Maple Farm's goal is to provide a safe, secure, supportive environment for women and men seeking both short- and long-term care.
