Columbia Center Gets a New Look

Reconstructive Surgery:
Columbia Center Gets a New Look

If you were a recent visitor to Lancaster General Health Columbia Center, you probably noticed the construction that was underway. Planning for these renovations began in 2008, with input from the staff
to ensure a user-friendly design that enhances the patient experience. The updated facility will continue to provide outpatient services like:
      • laboratory testing
      • imaging
      • physical therapy
      • family medicine through Twin Rose Family Medicine

Enhancements will include:

Laboratory Testing
The new area includes three separate open draw stations for blood work, as well as a private room for EKG patients or pediatric procedures.

Diagnostic Imaging

CT scans, mammography, x-ray and ultrasound will be offered in one convenient location at the new diagnostic imaging suite. Patients now have access to advanced imaging technology, with the acquisition of a 16-slice CT scanner and new digital mammography capabilities. “Our new ultrasound suite was built for the comfort of our patients and included both a private restroom and changing room within the suite,” says Jack Goble, Director of Outpatient Services.

Physical Therapy

Patients are enjoying their sessions in an ergonomically designed space in the main building, featuring a new gym and open areas with ample natural light. The new design will enable therapists to handle the flow of patients more efficiently, reducing waiting time for appointments. Therapy patients will have the added convenience of a separate entrance.Efficiency and comfort were key considerations in the remodeling of Columbia Center. “Even the artwork was chosen with an eye for creating an extraordinary patient experience,” explains Jack. “All of the artwork was individually selected by our Healing Arts Committee to enhance the healing atmosphere and promote calm and relaxation.”
