Healthwise: Coping with Bedrest

Coping with Bedrest

Bedrest BuddiesWhen you are pregnant, there are several situations that may require your doctor to place you on bedrest for some portion of your pregnancy. Whether the order is unexpected or planned in advance, one thing is certain: bedrest is no vacation.

The good news is, you do not have to cope with this alone, thanks to the Bedrest Buddies Program at Lancaster General Women & Babies Hospital. Bedrest Buddies is a support group of women who have all had a high-risk pregnancy that required bedrest.

We understand firsthand the emotional and physical challenges you are facing and can identify with the feelings you may be experiencing. You can talk to us by phone or online. We are here to provide the emotional support you need and to share useful information to make your time in bed more pleasant and productive.

To learn more about participating in the Bedrest Buddies Program, we invite you or your care provider to call (717) 544-3145. We look forward to hearing from you and send our best wishes to you and your baby.

Bedrest Buddies is funded by a Women’s Giving Circle grant provided to Lancaster General Women & Babies Hospital.
