Lancaster General Woman now printed on
environmentally friendly paper

Lancaster General Woman is now being printed on quality paper that has been certified as environmentally safe by the United States Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

In order to earn FSC Certification, the pulp for the paper must originate from FSC-certified sources that have demonstrated responsible practices in forest management.

While recycled fiber is widely recognized as an important aspect of environmentally beneficial paper production, careful attention to forest management by timber producers can have an even greater benefit by reducing pollution, protecting endangered forests and preventing the clearing of vital forest ecosystems.

FSC Certified companies are active in minimizing the use of water, energy, wood and chemicals in the production of pulp, and eliminate harmful discharges from production into the air, water or soil. Using FSC Certified paper in Lancaster General Woman is part of Lancaster General’s ongoing commitment to adopt and maintain responsible environmental practices in all aspects of our operations.
