New Autism Guidelines Offer Hope For Earlier Diagnosis, More Successful Treatment

One year can make a huge difference when it comes to diagnosing and treating a child with an autism spectrum disorder. That’s why therapists at Lancaster General Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehab Services are welcoming the new guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics, which require pediatricians to screen all children for autistic spectrum disorders at their 18- and 24-month checkups. Healthwise: Maternal Obesity Program Now Available to Uninsured Women

Lancaster General’s New Beginnings Weight Management Program for Obese Pregnant Women is now being offered to women who are uninsured or underinsured. New Beginnings is a diet and physical activity program for overweight women with a Body Mass Index greater than 29, and who have just found out they are pregnant. Click here to read more.
