Carter's Corner at the New Cafe
Children who are awaiting the birth of a brother or sister at Women & Babies Hospital now have an interactive area all their own where they can create crafts to welcome their new sibling.
Carter’s Corner is a child-oriented space where kids can create special crafts for their baby brother or sister as well as for mommy, adding to the excellent care and support offered at Women & Babies Hospital.
The space was created by Todd and Megan Brown in memory of their son, Carter James Brown, who was stillborn at Women & Babies Hospital on July 5, 2005. The Brown’s were inspired by their son Andrew, who spent time making crafts for his new brother while waiting at Women & Babies Hospital.
With each craft made for and received by a new baby, Carter’s life will be honored as a new lifetime bond between siblings is born.
Carter’s Corner offers a diverse choice of crafting options and promotes stimulation, creativity and individuality for children of all ages. It’s located just off from the main lobby next to the new café.
Visitors will have 24-hour access to the café and Carter’s Corner.
Carter’s Corner is funded solely by charitable contributions. All contributions are tax deductible and all proceeds received will be used to purchase and maintain supplies on a continuing basis.
