Physicians Earn Awards

Dr. Ross E. Long, Jr. and Dr. Mohammad Mazaheri from the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic both received awards for their work and their service.

Dr. Ross E. Long, Jr., Director of the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, received the “Honors of the Association Award” from the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association in April 2005 at the national conference.

This is the highest award presented by the ACPA.  Dr. Long was recognized for his outstanding achievements in the field of cleft palate or other craniofacial anomalies and for his outstanding service to the Association.  Dr. Long is a past president of ACPA and he currently serves on the Strategic Planning, Management and Finance, and Research Committees.

Dr. Mohammad Mazaheri, Chief of the Cleft & Craniofacial Program at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, received the 2005 Hempfield Sertoma “Service to Mankind Award” presented by John Ashline, Hempfield Sertoma President.  This award is given in recognition for his outstanding contributions to the cleft and craniofacial field and for his long-standing work with patients at the Clinic.  In addition, he was recognized for his humanitarian efforts to provide cleft and craniofacial care to children in Iran and across the globe.
