New Report on Lancaster County Behavioral Health Risk is Released

Alcohol consumption, tobacco use, exercise and life satisfaction were among the topics surveyed in the newly released Behavioral Health Risk of Lancaster County Adults Report. The findings compare healthcare awareness, access to care and health behaviors in Lancaster County to that of Pennsylvania as a whole.

 

The survey contains questions provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Lancaster County Health Partnership including Lancaster General Health. The questions asked participants about their health status, access to healthcare, health awareness, use of preventive health services and an overall knowledge and attitude assessment.

 

Among the findings:

  • 12% of Lancaster County adults report they are in fair to poor health
  • 26% of Lancaster County adults report being obese
  • 16% of Lancaster County adults report being current smokers
  • 12% of Lancaster County adults report being binge drinkers
  • 96% of Lancaster County adults report being satisfied or very satisfied with their lives
