The Lancaster General HealthCare Foundation (LGHF) is a private, non-profit Foundation dedicated to supporting excellence in patient care across the Lancaster General (LG) Health System.

The Foundation Mission is to Advance the Culture of Philanthropy within the Lancaster General Health System

Our goal is to provide additional funding resources to promote research, new and expanded services, innovative clinical and out-patient care, and educational opportunities for medical staff.

Our intent is to use these investments within the Lancaster General Healthcare System to improve healthcare services for Lancaster’s communities and the patients we serve.

Our Philosophy

Virtually all of America’s non-profit hospitals can trace their beginnings and growth to investments of time, talent and funding from community leaders and civic, business and religious institutions. One constant in healthcare is change; and the way communities today invest in their hospitals continues to evolve.

In July 2006, Lancaster General took a significant step toward enhancing how our community can invest in our current and future resources through the establishment of the Lancaster General HealthCare Foundation (LGHF)

The generosity of Lancaster’s communities, including corporations, foundations and individuals, have made an extraordinary difference in the availability of exceptional healthcare services and the development of specialized care throughout the LG Healthcare System.

LGHF will enhance these efforts by providing internal grants and funding to continue this commitment to excellence on behalf of Lancaster’s communities. While the Foundation is just getting started on its journey, the excitement surrounding its potential is well on its way. We hope you will recognize the value of a strong healthcare system in our community which can extend into the future to serve the next generations.
