Top 50 Hospital

Lancaster General specialties ranked nationally by U.S. News

Lancaster General Hospital was named among the top 50 hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report magazine in two specialties: cancer and geriatrics.

This is the first year these specialties have been honored by U.S. News. This is fifth time in six years that the magazine recognized Lancaster General Hospital in its annual “America’s Best Hospitals” edition.

The magazine assessed care in 16 specialties. These hospitals received a score that equally weighs reputation, mortality and certain care-related factors such as nursing.

According to the magazine, only 173 of the 5,462 hospitals that were evaluated scored high enough this year to rank in one or more specialties. Lancaster General Hospital is the only hospital in Lancaster County to have ever attained the U.S. News honor.
