The path to a health career starts at the
new Lancaster General College Web site

Taking that first step toward a rewarding career in healthcare just got a whole lot easier.
The Lancaster General College of Nursing and Health Sciences launched its new Web site, www.LancasterGeneralCollege.edu, in November, providing organized and useful information that can help prospective students understand their healthcare career choices and find one that is the right fit for them
But the Web site offers much more, including greater interactivity and learning resources for current students and faculty, updated information about College events and programs, and enhanced communication for College alumni.
"I think our new website is attractive, sophisticated, and easier to navigate,” says Donna Williamson, Lancaster General College Dean of Student Services. “Useful information is just one or two clicks away.”
Future students
With so many healthcare career options available to students today - many of which are in high demand fields - it can be quite challenging for a prospective student to sort through the possibilities available.
A visit to www.LancasterGeneralCollege.edu gives future students a snapshot of the 10 different academic programs offered, educational expectations during their enrollment, tuition and fees as well as financial aid.

Current Students
For students enrolled at the College, the enhanced Web site offers a dynamic way to stay connected with the campus, no matter where you are at the time.
Students have access to e-mail, events calendars and even the College Bookstore. The Web site also offers Blackboard, an interactive area of the Web site that allows students to download lectures from their classes, view homework lists, and check out policies, handbooks and even grades – information that is not available to the general public.
Student life beyond academics is also highlighted, and the Web site includes listings of College events, access to social activities in the Lancaster community, as well as benefits afforded to Lancaster General College students, such as free membership to the YMCA and the College’s athletics offerings.
For students nearing the end of their studies who are preparing to enter the job market, www.LancasterGeneralCollege.edu provides a link to the Lancaster General Careers Web site, where they can explore career opportunities at Lancaster General, including job descriptions and requirements.
Alumni Services
Lancaster General College maintains a close relationship with its alumni. For over 100 years Lancaster General College has been committed to healthcare education, and we are proud of our students who go on to play an important role in the health and well-being of their communities.
The Web site provides a way for alumni to stay connected to their alma mater, by finding out about alumni activities, reading alumni news or even ordering a shirt or mug with the College logo from the College Store.
Continuing Education
Healthcare is a field that is always changing and improving, so to make sure healthcare practitioners can stay current about information related to their field, the College offers the Institute for Professional Development (IPD).
The Web site features many resources and services for staff or learners who are enrolled in one of our three IPD centers: Center for Clinical Education, Center for Continuing Education, or the Center for Leadership, Management and Innovation.
Continuing education students have access to most of the Web features available to traditional students at the College, including Blackboard.
The redesigned Web site is easier to navigate, loaded with current College information, and with an enhanced search function, you can get to the College information you need in a few short clicks.
“The Web site’s quality and first-class appearance gives visitors a more detailed image of the College and the education we can provide,” Donna says. “We hope that it will encourage more students to consider enrolling at Lancaster General College to pursue a healthcare career.”
