Walk with Spirit

Women encouraged to Walk with Spirit
 
Walking is a great way to improve your overall wellness, and when it’s a part of your daily lifestyle, you can walk your way to better weight, a healthier heart and bones, and an improved mood.

As a member of the Spirit of Women Network of hospitals and healthcare facilities, Lancaster General is encouraging women to join the Walk with Spirit program, which provides the tools and the support women need to improve their health and work toward a daily goal of 10,000 steps.

“Walking is simple, it’s free and it’s something most people can enjoy,” said Rosemary Search, RN, BSN, of Lancaster General’s Wellness Center. “At the same time, walking offers a number of health benefits, including weight loss, a reduction in cardiovascular and diabetic risk factors such as hypertension, hyperglycemia and metabolic syndrome and a faster return to normal weight post pregnancy.”
