Striving for Excellence
The past year has been filled with several historic accomplishments at Lancaster General. As grateful as we are for these types of distinctions, we are even more honored to continue to be your healthcare provider of choice in Lancaster County. Each year, more and more people choose Lancaster General facilities for themselves and their families. Your trust in us is the highest honor we can achieve.
Opening Things Up
Earlier this year, a new tool to prevent restenosis became available. Drug-coated stents were approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Cardiologists in the Lancaster General Heart Center have been using the stents since spring and were among the first in the nation to do so.
Non-invasive Cardiology Changes Create Improved Patient Experience
Getting a stress test shouldn’t be a stressful experience. This fall, Lancaster General Heart Center will unveil a more comfortable, expanded cardiology services area on the second floor of the hospital. The improvements will benefit patients by offering a more calming, welcoming atmosphere. Cardiology services will expand significantly, which should mean shorter wait times for patients.
Diagnosing Digestive DisordersHeartburn. Indigestion. Abnormal bowel movements. Digestive disorders affect more than 60 million men and women in the United States (National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse). Regional Gastroenterology Associates of Lancaster (RGAL) and Lancaster Gastroenterology, Inc. frequently refer patients to the Lancaster General Endoscopy Lab at the Lancaster General Health Campus for diagnostic exams and therapeutic procedures.
LancasterGeneral.org Expands Interactivity
As Internet technologies develop, so do the number of online services Lancaster General offers patients. Our newest capability—online bill payment—establishes Lancaster General as one of the growing number of hospitals to understand the benefits of electronic transactions. Online bill payment offers a convenient, safe alternative to writing checks. Electronic payment saves money by reducing postage and check costs. Equally as important, it saves people time.
Safety: Our Highest Priority
When using a healthcare provider, it’s important to know that you are in good hands. At Lancaster General, we place a high value on safety—for patients, staff and visitors. Every employee, medical staff member, student and volunteer understands the reason we emphasize a safe, comfortable experience for patients and their loved ones.
By Your Side

As Lancaster County’s healthcare leader, Lancaster General looks outside its walls to collaborate with individuals, organizations and agencies to proactively address current and future health issues.
