20 Years of Cardiac Surgery Excellence
The 20 years of experience is the cornerstone of Lancaster General Heart Center’s successful cardiac surgery program. Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Lancaster (CTSL) has been an important part of the program from the beginning and they now provide care exclusively for LGH patients. This collaboration between LGH and CTSL means that only LGH patients have access to some of the most skilled surgeons in the area.
Discussing Abnormal BleedingA monthly menstrual cycle is a normal part of life for most women prior to menopause. Yet for one in five women, their period is abnormally heavy and troublesome. Some find themselves frequently rushing to the bathroom and constantly worrying about leaks and stains. Other women experience bleeding between periods or complain of periods lasting longer than the typical 5-7 days.
Columbia Health Center Emphasizes Care for the CommunityColumbia Health Center, formerly Lancaster General Susquehanna Division, is committed to providing outpatient healthcare to the residents of western Lancaster County and eastern York County. “We’re excited about the direction the Columbia Health Center is taking. PET Scans Offer New Hope in Fight Against Breast Cancer Within the last few years, a new diagnostic tool has been of assistance in the fight against breast cancer. The PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan can be useful to determine if disease has spread beyond the breast and to evaluate the response of tumors to treatment. Scott Winner, M.D., of Lancaster Radiology Associates, has used the PET technology for more than two years at the P.E.T. Imaging Center at the Lancaster General Health Campus.
544=LGH
Starting in late June, 544 became the new exchange for telephone numbers at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster General Health Campus, Lancaster General Women & Babies Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Association. The 544 exchanges gives Lancaster General nearly 7,000 additional direct dial numbers.
