Kissel Hill Health Center to Open in Lititz

Kissel Hill Health Center to Open in Lititz

Convenient and quality healthcare services will soon be closer than ever for residents in the Lititz area. With the spring opening of the Kissel Hill Health Center, those living in the northeast section of the county will no longer need to drive far for Lancaster General-quality services.

“One of our goals is to ensure that healthcare services are convenient to where people work and live,” says Jan Bergen, Senior Vice President, Lancaster General. “For many families, Lancaster General is synonymous with healthcare. We recognize how busy and how stressful life can be. By bringing our services into people’s neighborhoods, hopefully we’re helping to make lives a little easier—and a little healthier.”

The Kissel Hill Health Center, Peters Road, Lititz, demonstrates Lancaster General’s commitment to bringing outpatient services within a 10-minute drive for all residents of Lancaster County. Similar in scope to Lancaster General Medical Services at Willow Lakes (located south of Lancaster in Willow Street), the Kissel Hill center complements the services offered at Lititz Family Practice Associates. A member of the Lancaster General Medical Group, Lititz Family Practice Associates is located at 562 W. Second Ave., Lititz.

As a healthcare facility, Kissel Hill Health Center will provide a full range of outpatient medical services. Laboratory testing will include electrocardiograph, holter monitors and blood tests. Physical medicine and rehabilitation will offer occupational therapy, physical therapy and wound management. Imaging services will feature screening mammograms, ultrasound, diagnostics (X-ray), CT scans and an open MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). Respiratory and pulmonary fitness testing will also be available. The center will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.

The first floor of the two-story Kissel Hill Health Center will be dedicated to hospital services. Jan explains that the second story of the $4.5 million facility may feature additional healthcare services or serve other purposes, depending on the community’s wants and needs. A community room is among the options being considered. Inside the center, patients will find a calming, warm, homelike atmosphere—similar to the décor of Lancaster General Women & Babies Hospital.

“We are designing a center to reflect the community,” Jan says. “We want people to feel comfortable, not overwhelmed, when they visit us for services.” Toward that end, Jan says that the center will have a full-time greeter to answer incoming phone calls, direct patients to scheduling and serve as a back-up for registration. “We understand that centralized scheduling can be intimidating for some, so we want to offer patients more options when they need to schedule an appointment.” All Kissel Hill Health Center employees have undergone an extensive customer service training program to ensure that patients are treated with the utmost respect and courtesy.

In building the Kissel Hill Health Center, Lancaster General worked with Lititz-area contractors when possible. “We want to support the communities where we are located,” Jan says. “We don’t just see ourselves as medical providers. We view ourselves as partners in maintaining the health of the community—physically, mentally and financially. Many of our more than 20 employees in this new center also live locally.”
