Skimping on Sleep
It probably comes as no surprise -- most women don’t get enough sleep. Statistics show 75 percent of females between the ages of 30-60 sleep less than eight hours a night during the week. Sleep deprivation can cause serious physical and mental illness. Help yourself get a good night’s sleep by taking some simple steps:
-
Set and stick to a regular bedtime and “wake time” schedule
-
Relax and unwind before going to bed by soaking in the bath or reading a book
-
Exercise regularly, but not too close to bedtime
-
Cut back on fluid intake before going to sleep
-
Avoid big meals, smoking, caffeine and alcohol close to bedtime
