Pre-Diabetes Program

Pre-Diabetes Program

An estimated 9.1 million women in the United States have diabetes, but close to one-third don’t realize it. To educate people about their risk, the Lancaster General Diabetes and Nutrition Center offers a series of pre-diabetes programs at Lancaster General Hospital.

Pre-diabetes risk factors include:

  • over the age of 40;
  • family history of diabetes;
  • unhealthy weight;
  • high blood pressure, high triglycerides or low HDL (good) cholesterol; or
  • gestational diabetes or delivering a baby weighing more than nine pounds.

A registered dietitian, nurse educator and exercise physiologist will share information during this two-part program. Learn about pre-diabetes and how to make lifestyle changes to reduce your chance of developing diabetes. To register, please call 544-5923.
