Childhood overweight continues to increase in the United States. One way to turn this trend around is by enabling children to start healthy eating and physical activity at a young age. Color Me Healthy is a program developed to share fun, interactive learning opportunities on physical activity and healthy eating with children between four and five years of age. Lancaster General has partnered with the PA Cooperative Extension and PA Dept of Health and Education to provide this free national training program for daycare workers in Lancaster County. Components of Color Me Healthy include free monthly newsletters that are available online in Spanish and English. For more information, or if you are a daycare center employee and want to attend the training, call 544-3527.
