Color Me Healthy

Childhood overweight continues to increase in the United States, and in Pennsylvania. One way to turn this trend around is by helping young children develop healthy eating and physical activity habits. Color Me Healthy (CMH) is an award-winning kit of resources that was developed in North Carolina for early childhood providers and teachers.  Through its use of color, music, posters, hands-on learning experiences and activities, CMH aims to teach preschoolers (between four and five years of age) the importance of healthy eating and physical activity. Lancaster General Health has partnered with the Pennsylvania Departments of Health (DOH), Education (PDE), and Public Welfare (DPW) and other agencies in Pennsylvania to provide free training workshops for child care providers and preschool teachers who work in Lancaster County.
