Baby Care Basics
This class is an information and demonstration session with instruction on the basic techniques of baby care such as bathing, child-proofing the home, car seat safety, caring for an ill child, choosing a day care or child care provider, infant findings, and more. This class includes two, two-hour sessions. Fee: $35.
Dad's Boot Camp—Rookies in Training
This class helps men step up to the tremendous challenge of fatherhood. Under the guidance of veteran dads, rookie dads practice baby care skills. They also have the opportunity to network and receive mutual support regarding such topics as helping mom, understanding breastfeeding, the changing roles of fathers, and the physical and emotional expectations of their partners. This is a 2-hour session. Fee: $20.
Baby Massage
Knowing how to massage your newborn allows your family to share a unique and loving experience through touch. This class opens the way for you to bond with your baby. You will receive a CD of soft sounds and a DVD of the massage techniques. This is a 1-1/2-hour class. Fee: $25.
Sibling Class
This class helps your children prepare for the birth of your new baby and the new emotions surrounding the big event. Discussions include the newborn and what the baby will do and look like. A tour of the maternity area is included. This class is recommended for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years. Bring a doll or teddy bear to class. This is a 1-1/2-hour session. Fee: $20 per family.
New Baby Day Camp
Siblings ages from 6 to 10 are invited to spend a fun and interactive afternoon with us as we turn the classroom into a campsite and the hospital into a hiking trail. We will explore the upcoming transition of your older child becoming a new big brother or sister. The class is 2 hours. Fee: $25 per family.
Grandparenting in the 21st Century
Trends in labor and delivery as well as methods of caring for newborns and children have changed drastically over the years. This class is designed for first-time grandparents and is focused on creating understanding between new parents and grandparents. The program reviews the latest ideas in obstetrics and child development. A walk through tour is included in the class. All caregivers are welcome to attend this class. This is a two-hour class. Fee: $10 per person.
