Giving blood is now more convenient. The Lancaster General Health Blood Donor Center has moved to a larger, more accessible location at the LG Health Campus at 2100 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster.
 
The new facility, located in building 2104, suite 202, features a reception area, three screening rooms, six donor stations, post-donation refreshment area and easy access parking
 
 

 
 
Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in America, affecting 1 in 6 men with more than 186,000 diagnoses each year. Along with colorectal cancer, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for men in Lancaster County. African American men have a substantially higher risk of developing prostate cancer.

U.S. News & World Report has named Lancaster General Hospital as one of the top 50 hospitals in the United States for treatment of digestive disorders.
 
The magazine ranked hospitals at how well they treat complex cases covering 16 specialties.  
 
 
 
 

 
 
Transportation and language barriers are among the key factors impacting access to healthcare for Lancaster County’s African American and Latino populations.
 
The findings, based on focus group research by Lancaster General Health in collaboration with the Lancaster Health Improvement Partnership (LHIP), outline how minority groups view access to healthcare services, barriers to care and recommendations for improvement.
 
 

 

More than 35,000 Pennsylvanians have been diagnosed with AIDS. Across the nation, more than one million Americans are living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and one fifth of those infected are unaware of their condition.

Lancaster General Health’s Comprehensive Care Medicine offers free Rapid HIV testing and counseling for at-risk individuals, as well as anyone between the ages of 13 and 64.

 

 

Lancaster General Health, in collaboration with the RASE Project (Recovery, Advocacy, Service, Empowerment), is expanding its care to improve the medical services provided to patients dealing with addiction.
