ALSO® PROVIDER COURSE
An educational program designed to enhance cognitive and procedural skills of health care professionals to help them manage obstetrical emergencies
This course is directed primarily toward maternity care providers including physicians, nurses, and certified nurse midwives.
Fees:
Each participant takes the following six required workshops:

Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance,

Shoulder Dystocia,

Malpresentations,

Forceps/Vacuum Assisted Delivery,

OB Case Studies,

Maternal Resuscitation/Postpartum Hemorrhage
Each participant can take one of the two optional workshops:
OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Discuss ways of improving the management of obstetrical urgencies and emergencies which may help standardize the skills of practicing maternity care providers.

Discuss the importance of utilizing regional maternity care services and identify possible barriers which might limit access.

Successfully complete the course written test and megadelivery testing station.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 16 (Prescribed or Elective) credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. 13.25 of these credits conform to the AAFP criteria for evidence-based CME clinical content. The amount of EBM CME has been doubled to reflect 2 for 1 credit for only the EBM CME portion. When reporting CME credits, AAFP members should report total Prescribed and Elective credits earned for this activity. It is not necessary for members to label credits as evidence-based CME for reporting purposes.
NURSING STATEMENT
"This program has been approved for 16 contact hours by the Missouri Nurses Association which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses' Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation."
